Special Artist for "The Grinch" Shelly worked with
Universal Studios and other manufacturers to design hundreds of
specialty and mass
market products, including figurines, ornaments, snow globes, and
much more for release with the Universal Studios movie

It is hard to believe, but... In five intense months on the Grinch Project, Shelly... *** Created over 1500 pencil sketches *** Created over 300 rough color designs *** Completed over 100 pieces of full-color final artwork, some requiring multiple views. *** Completed up to four revisions per final product. Each product had to be reviewed by Universal Studios, the product manufacturer, the wholesale customer, representatives of the "Dr. Suess" license-holders, and in some cases the actors in the movie too! |

The above scene is one of several large & highly complicated snow globes (9" globe) which Shelly was asked to specially-design for a nationwide customer. Large companies often wanted Shelly to design exclusive products for them so they could carry their own unique line of "Grinch" products.
